Job Title: Communications Assistant

Location: Yaba, Lagos

Job Description

  • We are seeking a Communications Assistant to join our dynamic team. If you’re creative, proactive, and enthusiastic about using communication tools to drive change, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management:

  • Develop, schedule, and manage engaging content across CEWHIN’s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Monitor and respond to comments and messages in a timely, professional manner.
  • Track social media analytics to measure performance and recommend strategies for improvement.

Content Creation:

  • Brainstorm, script, and create compelling visual and written content, including social media posts, blogs, infographics, and newsletters.
  • Edit videos for campaigns, events, and other communications using tools like CapCut.
  • Design eye-catching graphics using Canva that align with CEWHIN’s brand guidelines.

Video Creation & On-Camera Presence:

  • Script and shoot short, engaging videos for campaigns and program updates.
  • Appear on camera to communicate CEWHIN’s initiatives and programs in a confident and professional manner.

Communications Support:

  • Assist in writing press releases, reports, and other organizational documents.
  • Support the development and execution of communication strategies for events, webinars, and campaigns.
  • Maintain CEWHIN’s content calendar and ensure timely delivery of all communication outputs.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work closely with the Communications Lead to align messaging with CEWHIN’s mission and goals.
  • Coordinate with program teams to document activities and success stories for storytelling and advocacy purposes.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 1 – 2 years of experience in communications, social media management, or content creation.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Canva and CapCut is essential.
    • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite) is an added advantage.
    • Basic photography and videography skills.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Comfortable appearing on camera to represent CEWHIN in videos.
  • Creativity: Ability to generate innovative ideas and craft compelling stories to engage CEWHIN’s audience.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in content creation and proofreading.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different departments.
  • Passion: Commitment to CEWHIN’s mission of empowering women and addressing women issues.
