diagnosis, management and treatment. Examples of technologies include:

  • Therapeutics
  • Vaccines
  • Devices
  • Digital technologies
  • Diagnostics

Applications are open to all areas relevant to Africa’s health challenges. Solutions should demonstrate strong potential for health systems strengthening, and particularly, significant improvement in healthcare equity and access.

The Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx)  is a cross-university network that brings the University of Oxford’s long-standing, multi-disciplinary engagement with Africa under one platform.
The overarching goal of AfOx is to ensure Africa remains a strategic priority for the University, and that students and academics who attend from the Continent feel supported and at home while they are here.

AfOx-HIP will work with African innovators in the co-development of skills ranging from creative problem solving, translational research, entrepreneurship, and venture acceleration.

Emerging African researchers and innovators

AfOx-HIP will identify outstanding emerging African researchers and innovators, proposing new solutions for health and facilitate their interaction with partners across Oxford, for the AfOx Innovation and Entrepreneurship Scheme.
