Its activities are based on the principles of solidarity, justice, human dignity, equality of rights and opportunities, respect for diversity and coexistence, paying special attention to the most vulnerable people.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Distribution Assistant
Location: Jere / Maiduguri, Borno North East Nigeria (100% field)
Employment Type: Full-time
Slots: 5
Starting date: 1st January, 2021
Duration of contract: 12 months (Extendable)
Reporting to: Project Manager
Purpose of the Position
- Under the supervision of the Protection Manager, the Distribution Assistant is responsible for the provision of support, and to implement Food Security BSFP and other related activities in the field in accordance with SHO principles and ensure these field activities are executed in an efficient manner
Responsibilities
Under the management of the Food Security and Livelihood Project Managers:
- Assist the Project Manager (BSFP) in project implementation and ensure activities are completed within timelines.
- Arrange for the pre- and post-distribution meeting
- Carry out project activities information dissemination
- Support in the protection of beneficiaries right and compliance with SHO standards
- Manage the BSFP activities volunteering work
- Actively participate in post distribution monitoring
- Tracking of new arrivals and registration of new beneficiaries
- Delivery of key sensitization messages
- Organises focused group discussion
- Any other Task as assigned by Supervisor.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates should possess an SSCE / Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1 year work experience.

- Work within the framework of SHO Nigeria’s core values.
- Act as an ambassador for SHO Nigeria, through professionalism and conduct.
- Adhere to all SHO policies and procedures both technical and administrational.
- Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programmes.
- Maintain and care for all equipment issued by SHO Nigeria and for any losses or damages due to negligence you will be liable for repair or replacement
Languages:
- Spoken and written English, knowledge of a Local language is appreciated
Brief Conditions
- Salient Humanitarian Organization (SHO) reserve right to transfer position as per need / project demand any time during the project. Position will be based in Bama.
- Staff will responsible to manage for his/her own accommodation / food;
- Travelling from home to duty station will be staff own responsibility but facilitation could be provided as per situation;
- No TA/DA will be provided for the field work appointed to work for;
- Salient reserve the right to close the application before deadline, if the required number of candidates is attained.
- Candidates will be responsible for his/her own travel, accommodation and feeding during the recruitment process;
- Other Terms & Condition will be part of Job Contract;
