ICT Specialist 1 (Health Information System & Pearl/DCMS Project)-1 year Fixed Term


Under the direct supervision of the ICT Engineer, ICT Specialist I brief end-users on standard computer systems, provides technical
advice and assistance with IT equipment and its use and provides remote support when needed for Health Information Systems (HIS)/
Pearl/DCMS PROJECT in University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and State Specialist Hospital.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Offer 1st and 2nd level service desk support to users in University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for DCMS and State
Specialist Hospital.
• Brief, advises and trains end-users on the ICT systems.
• ICT Inventory attribution and management
• ICT Stock movement management for Pearl and DCMS project
• Ensure that global policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
• Drafts and updates technical documentation for all IT equipment.
• Carry out the duties of ICT Specialist 2 when s/he is absent.
• Install Update and maintains ICT devices and infrastructure of all ICRC Maiduguri offices.
• Assist with installs, updates and maintains infrastructure in the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and State Specialist Hospital.
• Timely response to helpdesk requests from callers and walk-ins, providing remote assistance to users with ICT problems.
• Ensure all ICT support requests are accurately logged in the ICT STM database and resolution is done according to the
agreed Service Level Agreement and escalates unresolved problems to GVA service desk.
• Provide support to other field ICT technicians by answering phone calls or messages, reacting according to ICT policies and
priorities.
• Support users in backing up and restoring their data as well as in virus detection, removal and prevention.
• Follow up proactively the latest ICT developments and informs ICT Coordinator and technicians about them
• Monitor and counsels the ICT Coordinator / ICT Engineer of shortages/availability of stock items
• Files important documents (manuals, installation documents, invoices, letters) accordingly and keeps these files up-to-date
• Assist in monitoring, operation and performance of LAN/WAN connectivity and communication services
• Assist users in software installation from ICT store and ensures proper software distribution, updates, and scripts installation
• Report any disappearance of equipment immediately to the ICT Coordinator/ICT Engineer or to the administration
• Know, respect and monitor ICT policies, procedures and standards set by GVA and ABJ in relation to use of ICT equipment
• Maintain proper documentation of all equipment attribute or loaned in the inventory and the ICT stock, and schedules requests
for equipment replacement.
• Assist in the verification of proper server backup.
Education and Experience Required
• Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in ICT domain, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer science or similar field.
• 3-5 years cognate experience in IT, Electronics or related field.
Desired profile and Skills
• Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment.
