ICT Specialist 2
Under the direct supervision of the ICT Manager, the ICT Specialist 2 manages and organizes all ICT systems and services in the
location where s/he is posted. S/he assists the ICT Manager in designing and installing ICT infrastructure.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Participate in training ICT staff.
• Independently carries out large computer and telecommunications infrastructure projects according to ICRC standards.
• Provide technical support and training on ICT-related matters in the country or place of assignment.
• Installs, programs, adapts and maintains all professional ICRC Informatics equipment (computers, servers, printers,
peripherals, internal networks, power systems, cabling, modem, connexons and internet facilities) respecting internal
standards and procedures. Installs, programs, adapts and maintains all professional ICRC Telecom/Radio equipment (HF,
VHF, UHF, modems, antennas, cabling, power systems, inverters, batteries and repeaters) respecting internal standards and
procedures.
• Plan, Implement all the ICT project in IT and Telecom Infrastructure.
• Timely response to helpdesk Level 1 and level 2 requests from the ICT ServiceDesk platform, and providing remote
assistance to users with ICT problems if needed, and update the tickets in the system accordingly
• Provide support to other field ICT technicians by answering phone calls or messages, reacting according to ICT policies and
priorities. Repairs or organizes repairs of all broken ICRC Informatics, Telecom or Telephone equipment received in (or
transferred to) the ICT Workshop and attributed to him for repair.
• Maintain the workshop clean in order and secured.
• Assist in monitoring, operation and performance of LAN/WAN connectivity and communication services
• Assist users in software installation from ICT store and ensures proper software distribution, updates, and scripts installation
• Know, respect and monitor ICT policies, procedures and standards set by GVA and ABJ in relation to use of ICT equipment
• Ensure ICT inventory is updated regularly and maintains adequate stocks levels.
• Look for and advices ICT coordinator on proper ways of managing the disposal of obsolete ICT and radio equipment locally
• Contribute actively to the quarterly ICT reporting.
• Maintain a list of all the fleet vehicles and updates the list with respect to the radio installed on the vehicle
• Follow up with fleet department to ensure the department is updated on status of all field vehicles in the view of enforcing a
maintenance plan
• Draw up a maintenance plan and mobilizes ICT personnel to maintain the radio set-up in all the vehicles
Education and Experience Required
• Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in ICT domain (Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer science or similar field.
• Post Graduate/Master’s Degree is an asset
Desired profile and Skills
• Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment.
