We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Nutrition Assistant (for WFP-BSFP Project)
Location: Jere / Maiduguri, Borno North East Nigeria (100% field)
Employment Type: Full-time
Starting date: 1st January, 2021
Duration of contract: 12 Months (Extendable)
Reporting to: Project Manager
Job Description
- Assist in conducting monthly BSFP distribution activity to target population
- Assist in conducting proper community nutrition sensitization and screening exercise
- Supervise an effective mother to mother support group
- Supervise nutrition specific value adding activities (SBCC, Home gardening, food hygiene promotion etc
- Supervise regular follow up and management of malnutrition cases at the OTP/SC
- Provide nutrition training to community nutrition mobilizers
- Assist in preparation of monthly nutrition progress report
- Daily reporting of nutrition activity
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A University degree in Medicine, Nursing, Dietetics, Nutrition or relevant fields.
- Minimum of two years’ experience working with vulnerable communities, basic needs and distribution programming experience, and/or feeding programs.
- Experience in protection interventions in line with vulnerables or IDP operation.
- Experience of working with Non-Governmental organizations.
- Ability to communicate in Hausa and other local languages is a must.
- Willingness and ability to work full time time in the field directly with communities (camp setting and communities in Jere areas).
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of nutritional surveillance and information systems
- Proven ability and experience in planning and conducting formal training session on nutrition including.
- Ability to deal with relations with local authorities as a nutrition representative of SHO in the working area
- Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach local staff and community workers
- Ability to manage a fair workload including emergencies.
- Interests: Working in humanitarian relief, interest for social issues

Brief Conditions
