Research Coordinator at Grassroot Researchers Association (GRA) – 2 Openings

GRA is a non-political, rights-based organization registered in Nigeria in 2016. Dedicated to fostering evidence-based initiatives, GRA promotes development, justice, and victim support in communities. GRA programs focus is on on climate change, conflict, security,justice, social economic development, and governance. GRA collaborates with diverse stakeholders, including funders, civil societies, victims, institutions, communities, local government, and the state. GRAwork centers on empowering marginalized groups, such as children, women, people with disabilities, victims of SGBV, and at-risk youth. GRA targets a broad range of individuals, including victims of SGBV, missing persons and vulnerable individuals. GRA operates from its head office in Abuja, regional offices in Maiduguri andothers offices inAdamawa, Yobe, Plateau, Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara State.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Research Coordinator

Job Summary

  • The job involves developing research strategies for GRA, overseeing study design and conduct, managing research teams, collaborating with program staff, integrating findings into program design, disseminating findings, fostering evidence-based decision-making, and staying current with research trends and best practices.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement research strategiesthat align with GRA’s research agenda, program objectives, and donor requirements.
  • Oversee the design and conduct of research studies using different methodologies, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods.
  • Manage research teamsand ensure timely and quality data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with program staffto identify research needs and integrate research findings into program design and implementation.
  • Disseminate research findingsthrough publications, presentations, policy briefs, and other relevant channels.
  • Foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making within GRA.
  • Stay up-to-date with research trends and best practices in the field.

Qualifications

  • Master`s Degree in Social Sciences(e.g., Sociology, Anthropology, Development Studies) or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in research, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and conducting research studies in complex and challenging contexts.
  • Strong understanding of research ethics and principles.
  • Proficiency in advanced data analysis software(e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, Python).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Experience working in Nigeria and familiarity with the local research context.
