Applications are open for Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) Entrepreneurship 2025.  The Tony Elumelu Foundation was founded in 2010 with a mission to catalyse Africa’s economic transformation through entrepreneurship development. Since the launch of the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme in 2015, the Foundation has reached over 1.5 million young Africans on its digital hub, TEFConnect, and disbursed USD$100 million in direct funding to 20,000 young African women and men who have collectively created 400,00 jobs and generated US$2.5 billion in revenue.

Through the TEF Flagship Entrepreneurship Programme, the Foundation empowers African entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurship ecosystem across 54 African countries. The programme is opened to ALL entrepreneurs with businesses within 0 – 5 years. We encourage applications from businesses leveraging AI as well as green businesses.

What To Expect From The Programme? 

The TEF Entrepreneurship Programme identifies outstanding African entrepreneurs who have start-ups or business ideas with the potential to grow.  The TEF Entrepreneurship Programme will be delivered in different phases as listed below:

1. Application Phase
2. Training Phase
3. Business Plan, Financials, pitch video Submission and Review Phase
4. Seed Capital Phase

TEF Entrepreneurship Programme Benefits

• Successful applicants will receive 12 weeks of intensive online training, access to a world-class mentor, and US$5,000 in seed capital to prove the concept, plus access to further funding. They will also gain access to the TEF network of startups.

Eligibility Criteria

• The program is open to all citizens and legal residents of any one of the 54 African countries. The proposed business must be registered and operate in Africa.
• Applicants must be 18 years old and must not be considered a minors in their country of residence. There is no upper-limit age restriction.
• All businesses must be business ideas or early-stage company in the range of 0 to 5 years old.
• Your application must focus on ONE business only. They advise choosing your best, most feasible/innovative business idea. Selected entrepreneurs are not permitted to apply for future cohorts of the program, even with a different business idea or name.
• Current employees or their family members from the Tony Elumelu Foundation and affiliate companies in the Heirs Holdings Group and UBA Group are not eligible to apply for the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme, either individually or as part of a team.

How To Apply for TEF Entrepreneurship Programme

• All Application Must be done online through the tefconnect.net only.
• ALL APPLICANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
  • Complete all mandatory fields in the online application form on TEFConnect.
  • Submit the form.
  • Attach all the requested documents (valid identity card and photo headshot) and upload the required documents.
  • Receive a notification on eligibility & next steps.
