Polaris Digitech Limited is a location intelligence firm that specializes in providing data, software and decision support services to fulfill its client’s strategies and management needs through the development and deployment of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Backend Developer (Intern)
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Develop reusable code and libraries for future use
- Perform testing to ensure code quality prior to release
- Collaborate with designers to confirm the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Validate user inputs before submitting to the front-end
- Support front-end developers working with Java by providing coding and
- troubleshooting assistance
- Contribute to architectural design discussions
- Maintain and update web applications as needed.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in server-side languages like Python, Java, Node.js, or PHP
- Understanding of RESTful API design and development
- Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
- Knowledge of version control systems, especially Git
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for collaboration with front-end developers
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify, debug, and resolve issues efficiently
- Attention to Detail: Careful testing and validation to ensure high-quality code
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication to work effectively within a team.
