Job Purpose
- Under the direct supervision and the guidance of the Senior PMER Officer, the PMER Intern would be responsible for supporting ensuring planning, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting (PMER) for the programs covered by the cluster office and provides technical assistance and support to IFRC project managers and Red Cross-National Societies (NS).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
S/he will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide support in developing and reviewing reports (development operational, pledge-based/donor, DREF/appeal, etc)
- Maintain a calendar of upcoming and due reports and ensure that project managers are aware of reporting deadlines
- Follow up with National Societies and technical colleagues to ensure timely submission and quality of reports
- Provide support in program planning and monitoring
- Provide support in implementing needs assessments, gap analysis, or baseline surveys where required
- Support in developing tools for data collection, data collection, and data analysis
- Support the tracking and collection of indicators data
- Support evaluations, reviews and case studies as may be required
- Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Senior PMER Officer
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (Management, Social Sciences, International Relations, Humanitarian Affairs, etc.). Required
Experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience of work in programmes and reporting. Required
- 1-2 years’ experience in a non-profit organization. Required
- Experience in working for the Red Cross / Red Crescent. Preferred
- Good technical writing/documentation skills. Required
- Knowledge, Skills and Language
- Excellent writing and editing skills. Required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Required
- Computer Literate (Microsoft Office especially excel, word, PowerPoint). Required
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. Required
- Initiative and flexibility. Required
- Accuracy and attention to detail. Required
- Fluently spoken and written English. Required
- Good command of another IFRC official language (French, Spanish or Arabic). Preferred
